At the recommendation of former Minister President Stephan Mappus, Dr. Gerhard Wobser, former company owner and committed citizen of Lauda-Königshofen, was awarded the German Federal Cross of Merit with Ribbon by the current Federal President, Christian Wulff. The award was presented by the Main-Tauber District Administrator, Reinhard Frank, in the Lauda-Königshofen City Hall before numerous guests and honorary dignitaries.
In his awards speech, the District Administrator not only honored a corporate personality who was well-known beyond the Taubertal, but also the role model actions performed by Dr. Gerhard Wobser in many social spheres. Mayor Thomas Maertens attested to the long association between the managing director of LAUDA – the world’s brand leader in constant temperature equipment and systems – and the city of Lauda-Königshofen.
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Reinhart, the parliamentary representative for the Main-Tauber District, underlined that the firm’s local loyalty in times of globalization was not a daily occurrence. In conclusion, the Chairperson of IHK Heilbronn-Franken, Elke Schweig, praised Dr. Gerhard Wobser for his commitment in many fields of corporate activity and in the community.
At the end of the festive-reflective event, accompanied on the piano by the eighteen-year-old Tobias Vollmer who presented joyful and modern pieces, Dr. Gerhard Wobser thanked the many attendees from the fields of commerce, politics, the church and also his family, particularly his wife, Inge.
