Electric heater Electric heaters are used if heating capacities are small or if steam or other hot mediums are not available, or provided at too low temperatures. For energy conservation reasons, a combination system with a second heating source could be of interest. The LAUDA modular system makes it possible.

Direct medium injection If the primary utility system uses the same medium as is used in the secondary circuit, a direct coupling, without heat exchanger may be advantageous, providing temperature ranges are achievable. This is especially true in low-temperature systems which use a central cooling ringmain configuration and where every single degree saved reduces operating costs.
